We were in 2 minds whether to embark on a custom design home as it is has many risks as you are placing so much trust and life savings in the hands of individuals you don’t really know. The following things were key in our mind

1. reputable builder with history and references to support their claims
2. price
3. customer service during and after construction

So after some research and speaking to other builders Trickle Creek checked all 3 of our main boxes above. Mike and Chris both came out on our initial meeting and we got a good impression of the individuals who we would be placing so much trust and cash. Also the package that was presented was very competitive. Mike and Chris arranged viewing's at customers houses which actually gives a better idea of the end product than viewing a show home as what you are looking at is a house that is being lived in and gives more of an idea on build quality.

Mark did a fantastic job of working our ideas into a custom design which we are still thrilled with today.

Selection of our finishes was the next big task and Chris did a great job of keeping us on track and keeping morale up. There are a huge amount of decisions to make, such as placing lights and electrical's etc as well as choosing all your fittings. As far as the finishes the base choices offered by Trickle Creek were excellent and probably made the process a little more difficult! However Chris broke the selection process down into key stages and timings so you could see progress as the house began to take shape keeping the build schedule on track. Chris and the team were fantastic in responding to any questions which was usually sent within hours and they were always on hand to be with you at any of the suppliers showrooms if needed..no pressure.

Of course our biggest worry was starting the build…this was a custom design, so no chance previously to perfect any flaws in the design (if there were any). This is where customer service is tested and Mike and Trickle Creek passed with flying colours. Of course there will always be something that isn’t right and this is when the builders promises at the beginning are tested, however Mike and team were fantastic making what could have been a very stressful process so easy. Any errors were put right immediately without fuss or argument, no heated exchanges as everything was well organized up front so the reference point was clear..simply if it didn’t match the design it was put right!

All lines of communication were always open and there was never any delay in response. The house was always available for inspection and of course Mike and Chris always on hand if you needed them there to talk through any issues.

As selections were being finalized Andrea was on hand to provide a fast update on project costs and always there to work through the numbers.

Finally possession is always exciting and the team were on hand to talk you through the working of the house and also have little practical gifts that wouldn’t normally think of when you’re moving! There were thoughtful items that Trickle Creek did that haven’t gone unnoticed by us that made the whole move the more pleasurable.

Finally the real test is the after sales service in my mind…Mike, Richard and Andrew were again always on hand to come and put right the glitches missed during the walkthrough. A fantastic example of the service was that after a couple of days one of the toilets stopped flushing, no sooner had Jane spoke to Andrea, Andrew as there within 30 mins to fix the problem which was a simple adjustment. In fact all the guys were available for any ‘how to’ questions during the first few weeks and months.

In summing up, the experience began with anxiety about the build but turned into one of pleasure and excitement. Trickle Creeks team were there with you through every stage of the process and were always on hand if you needed them. The truly outstanding customer service hasn’t ended…it began on day one and is still there 4 months after possession!!

Trickle Creek Custom Homes built our dream house out in DeWinton on our 2 acres of land. We contacted them before we purchases our land to find out a little more about them and what the building process would entail to see if we should even go forward with our dream.

After meeting with Chris and Mike we knew we would be able to go forward and that their knowledge and experience was what we needed for this process. As we were ready to purchase the land some other questions and issues arised and so even though it was not part of the build process Chris helped us when talking with the seller of the land and helped us to acquire what we were looking for in our land deal.

Trickle Creek had some very nice floor plans to choose from, but we really wanted to custom build and Trickle Creek was very accommodating. We were able to meet with their architect and give him our ideas as he then drew them up on paper. We were very pleased with the end result and now ready to build our dream home.

The next process “the building phase” could not have gone smoother for us as the clients. When building out on an acreage many things arise and you have to know about well water and pressure and septic, and all those others things that are not necessary when building in the city. I feel that Mike knew what was happening each step of the way and if they ran into a problem with the water level, something with our septic, etc…he knew exactly what needed to be done and made the necessary changes to make sure that our house was built correctly.

Mike, his crew and all the trades were very professional, timely and efficient. We were given a possession date at the very beginning of the build and Trickle Creek worked very hard to stay on target and get us in on possession day.

Overall we have nothing but words of praise for Trickle Creek and our experience working with them as they built our dream house. From the beginning of the land purchase they helped, to working with us on our design they helped, to helping choose all of our interior and being at our appointments, to the build, our house turned out better that we even expected!! I would recommend Trickle Creek to anyone building out on acreage. They know their stuff and get it right!!

Our dream has always been to move out of the city and build an acreage but we thought we would never get the opportunity, we were fortunate enough to find some land and then set about finding a builder we could trust. We were nervous when we built our house in the city but that was nothing compared to how nervous we were when it came to finding a builder to build our dream home.
